Henry David Thoreau once wrote: 'Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit and resign yourself to the influences of each'
I am a firm believer that you are who you are because of who you meet and who influences you. or rather, who you allow to influence you. So, this post is for Allan, who has never failed to make me laugh at his shennanigans in the kitchen, his zeal for life and his shyness when it coms to a certain girl (hahaha). Allan, who has earned the nickname Alien (because of Thomas the DOMB-ASS) Allan will definetely be remembered as the chef with the smoothest skin. and the horny mole on his upper lip.
After working in the hospitality enviroment for so long, I am quite used to people coming and going. It has the highest turnover of service and kitchen staff after all. So, it was no surprise when my sous' chef, Allan, decided he had enough and was leaving to look at greener pastures. We wish him the best of luck, and of course, an invite to future happenings aka your wedding Allan!! (he is the oldest young one amongst the EAST team heh)
he survived working at EAST for 2.5 years, and to celebrate this fact, a few of the staff decided to have a little farewell thing at my place. It wasnt meant to be anyething big, only 6 of us. but it was funny as ever, and throw in fre flow of alcohol (yes, free flow) it was quite funny. we played a few long rounds of Number 7, viking ship, black and red and of course the infamous card-on-forehead game too. All in all it was a good night. the mood was kinda killed when ferren had IBS (dont ask me to explain, its a long story and has something to do with the movements of her intestine and bowel) and had to go looking for a 24 hour pharmacy (which apparently does not exist in Auckland, they were told to drive to Hamilton. THATS ONE HOUR AWAY!!!). but she put her game face on, and went back to playing drinking games. even with the pain. yes, she is abit nutty that way.
apart from that, my week has been boring. work is getting busier i think. which is good for business, but i want it to be pumping. maybe with the new stuff that will be added in, it may pick up more. all this is great, but im still wanting more from work. my trip to south island this sunday will be a good change of scenery. meeting james and mariegrace will be good catch up again (i know they miss me!!) and of course, picking up my books. i am quite excited actually. and regardless of what everyone says about Dunedin, i still like the place. to visit, not to live. (sorry guys.. hahaha)
apart from that, holidays will be a long work fest (hooray) but im looking forward to making the extra money. i need the hours at work to keep me busy. oh, that and watching my drama series'.. which so far, i have finished OC Season 1, 2, 3, 4 and am currently downloading Ugly Betty. any recomendations? (note: i like drama series' with nice looking people and mediocre conversation/script. i dont like LOST, 24, ALIAS. yes i know. im 'plastic' like that..)
photos will be up tomorrow cos photobucket is on strike. phooey!
nighty night!
yes, we at EAST are very proper and filled with decorum.. NOT!!
p/s anyone know how to start an application for FACEBOOK that is EAST vs WAGAMAMA?? hehehehe
